Role Overview:
The Senior Manager M & E and Impact will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and enhancement of robust M&E systems across all programs and thematic areas. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, impact measurement, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
The incumbent will play a pivotal role in strengthening the organizations evidence-based approach, ensuring high-quality data systems, impactful reporting, and insights that drive innovation, donor confidence, and program excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Framework Development
Lead the design and implementation of M&E strategies, frameworks, and systems across projects and verticals.
Develop logical frameworks, results frameworks, KPIs, and Theories of Change aligned with program goals.
Ensure alignment of M&E systems with donor requirements, organizational impact metrics, and on-ground realities.
Foster an environment of evidence-based decision-making and adaptive learning across teams.
2. Research, Evaluation & Insights
Design and manage baseline, midline, endline, and impact evaluations.
Conduct and synthesize secondary research to strengthen program strategy and design.
Ensure high-quality data collection, validation, and analysis through internal teams or external agencies.
Translate M&E data into insights for advocacy, fundraising, and program refinement.
3. Capacity Building & Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the M&E team, fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
Build the capacity of project teams and partner agencies on M&E tools and best practices.
Promote organization-wide understanding and ownership of M&E processes.
4. Data Management & Reporting
Establish and manage centralized, technology-enabled MIS systems for real-time monitoring.
Create and disseminate dashboards, analytical reports, and data visualizations for diverse stakeholders.
Maintain a repository of M&E frameworks, tools, datasets, and field documentation.
5. Field Support & Quality Assurance
Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, validate data, and ensure adherence to M&E standards.
Support program teams in interpreting data for timely course correction and improved outcomes.
Provide hands-on guidance for quality assurance in implementation and reporting.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
Support resource mobilization efforts by contributing data-driven insights to proposals and donor reports.
Represent UWBe at internal reviews, donor meetings, and external forums with evidence-backed presentations.
Collaborate with government and technical partners to strengthen sectoral monitoring practices.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with vertical leads to design M&E systems tailored to each thematic area.
Partner with Communications, Partnerships, and Finance teams to integrate data for storytelling, compliance, and reporting.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proven expertise in M&E strategy, research design, and statistical analysis.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in CSR, development, or nonprofit settings.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and field teams across regions.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, SPSS/STATA/R, and data collection platforms ODK, Kobo, SurveyCTO).
Qualifications:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Development Studies, Public Policy, Statistics, Economics, or related disciplines.
- 15+ years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in core M&E leadership roles (preferably in CSR or nonprofit sectors).
- Fluency in English and Hindi; proficiency in Kannada preferred.
- Willingness to travel to project locations as required.
