Job Description

  • Key responsibilities of this position are: Planning, managing, monitoring, coordinating, documentation and reporting and timely execution of Environmental and Sustainability Education (ESE) activities of assigned project in Assam and other states of NE India.
  • Active engagement with educational institutions and communities by conducting and supporting activity-based learning and outreach programs.
  • Developing and anchoring networks and forums of sustainability teachers and educators in the NE region.
  • Liaise and engage with different stakeholders for effective ESE activities.
  • Actively evangelize sustainability education and environmental sensitivity in the larger community for long term change by creating opportunities for capacity building, sensitization, platforms for discussion and action.
  • Travel to different project sites
Qualification:
  • Master s degree.
    (Understanding about environment, environmental management, biodiversity conservation, social behaviour change, communication and scientific temperament requires).
  • Must have good communication skills including verbal & written proficiency in English and Assamese.
  • Must have excellent coordination skills and team spirit. At the same time ability to work independently.
  • Experience in Environmental and Sustainability Education/training/ social behaviour change will get preference.
Desired Qualification:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the field of Environmental and Sustainability Education and biodiversity conservation.
  • Working with community, youths, NGOs/CBOs, school/college students/teachers on environmental issues.
  • Ability to organise and execute ESE activities effectively.
  • Understanding of basics ESE action research.
  • Impact evaluation as well as qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. Also, ability to develop new processes and approaches.
  • Fair knowledge of computers (MS Office), Google Earth and fair knowledge of data analysis tools.
  • Ready to travel extensively across our workplaces.
  • Must be physically and mentality fit and able to live with basic amenities in remote areas.
  • Should be able to work independently would lead a small team of 2-3 persons.
  • Driving skills of two-wheeler would be an added advantage.

Type of contract : Annual (Initial term is for one year with possibility of long-term engagement based on the annual performance appraisal)
Honorarium: Negotiable with working knowledge, experience and qualification
