Vision Associates was founded in 1993 to provide optical dispensary management and consulting expertise to busy ophthalmic practices. The need for such services had become increasingly evident, as practices were realizing that maximizing dispensary profits required far more than simply hiring an optician and displaying eyeglass frames. Our comprehensive approach to optical dispensary management represented a much-needed break from the prevailing “gift shop” mentality that had caused dispensary profits to stagnate at many practices. As a result, we quickly grew to become a leader in this burgeoning niche industry. In 2002, Vision Associates’ optical laboratory facility was acquired by Essilor Labs of America, the nation’s leading lens manufacturer. Essilor’s lens expertise and high-tech manufacturing processes allowed us to focus solely on managing our clients’ dispensaries. Shortly thereafter, we computerized our entire operation, streamlining efficiencies and enhancing our own productivity to better serve our customers. In 2019, Vision Associates and Partners in Vision, another large optical dispensary management firm (founded in 1999), joined forces. By combining these two optical firms, we proudly partner with eye care practices throughout the country to manage over 200 locations in over 36 states. Vision Associates state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in Warren, NJ combines a laboratory, executive offices and frames inventory department under one roof.
