Railtel Corporation provides telecom services primarily to government sectors in India, facilitating projects like the National Optical Fiber Network for improved connectivity.
It is Public Sector Undertaking, under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. It is primarily engaged in providing telecom services, specially to government departments, in addition to our Administrative Ministry. We are providing Long-Distance Leased circuits, dedicated leased line based Internet services, MPLS-based secured VPN services. We are presently engaged in various prestigious projects of Govt. of India, including National Knowledge Network being executed by NIC, Universal Service Obligation funded project in North East and more recently with National Optical Fiber Network (for providing fiber connectivity to panchayats).
