Paediatric Orthodontist

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical and radiographic assessments of children's dental and craniofacial development.
• Diagnose malocclusions and other orthodontic conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans, including braces, aligners, and other corrective appliances.
• Perform orthodontic procedures in accordance with best practice paediatric protocols, adapting techniques to the needs of young patients.
• Coordinate with paediatric dentists, ENT surgeons, and speech therapists on complex cases such as cleft lip/palate or other craniofacial anomalies.
• Monitor patient progress through regular reviews and adjust treatment plans as required.
• Educate patients and caregivers on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment expectations.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and treatment records in line with hospital policy.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and continuing professional development.
• Support training and mentorship of dental assistants and junior staff.
