Pulmonologist (Paediatric)

Role & responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage children presenting with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
• Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, and other respiratory diagnostic procedures as clinically indicated.
• Develop individualised management plans for chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
• Provide inpatient consultation and management for children admitted with respiratory illness, including critical/intensive care support where required.
• Collaborate with allergists, ENT surgeons, cardiologists, and other specialists on cases with overlapping conditions.
• Counsel and educate families on disease management, home care, and use of respiratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to case reviews and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical audit, and continuing professional development.
• Support training and supervision of junior medical staff and respiratory therapists.
