Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Medical Transcriptionist with 35 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment. The candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing doctors’ notes, clinical reports, discharge summaries, operative notes, and other medical documentation while maintaining confidentiality and high standards of accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe and accurately document doctors’ dictated notes, medical reports, discharge summaries, operative notes, consultation notes, and other clinical documents.
  • Ensure accurate spelling, grammar, medical terminology, punctuation, and formatting in all medical documents.
  • Review and proofread transcribed reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with doctors, consultants, and clinical departments for clarification of unclear or incomplete information.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient medical records and clinical information.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of medical transcription work as per defined TAT.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records as per hospital protocols.
  • Identify and rectify discrepancies or inconsistencies in medical reports.
  • Follow hospital policies, quality standards, and documentation guidelines.
  • Support medical records and clinical documentation teams during audits and accreditation activities such as NABH.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards as defined by the department.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical abbreviations.
  • Excellent English grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and listening skills.
  • Good typing speed with high accuracy.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and hospital information systems/HMIS.
  • Ability to understand and interpret medical dictations and clinical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under strict TATs.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate in any discipline, preferably with a relevant qualification in Medical Transcription / Healthcare Documentation.
  • Certification in Medical Transcription will be an added advantage.

Candidate Profile

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in a hospital/healthcare setup is mandatory.
  • Candidates with experience in medical records, clinical documentation, discharge summary transcription, or hospital medical transcription will be preferred.
  • Should be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Should demonstrate high accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
