Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to develop and maintain validation software, test scripts, and automation frameworks for the Processing System (PS) side of a Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC-based platform. The role involves close collaboration with FPGA (PL-side) engineers to support board bring-up, hardware-software integration, and system-level validation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain PS-side test scripts and automation frameworks for board bring-up, validation, and regression testing.
- Create and debug Embedded C applications and Shell scripts running on PetaLinux.
- Work closely with FPGA engineers to validate PS-PL interactions and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Validate and debug interfaces including:
- SPI
- I2C
- Ethernet
- UART
- GPIO
- Support PetaLinux board bring-up activities, kernel debugging, device tree modifications, and driver-level troubleshooting.
- Perform hardware/software debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and JTAG tools.
- Document test procedures, validation results, and root cause analysis findings.
- Contribute to automation improvements and enhanced regression coverage.
Required Skills:
- 6+ years of embedded software/test engineering experience.
- Strong Embedded C programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux and PetaLinux.
- Shell/Bash scripting expertise.
- Experience with board bring-up and hardware validation.
- Strong understanding of SPI, I2C, and Ethernet protocols.
- Experience debugging Linux kernel, drivers, and hardware interfaces.
- Familiarity with Git and Linux development environments.
- Ability to work closely with FPGA and hardware engineering teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC platforms.
- Knowledge of Vivado, Vitis, AXI, DMA, and PS-PL interfaces.
- Python-based test automation (PyTest) experience.
- Familiarity with UART, GPIO, PCIe, and high-speed interfaces.
