Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and monitoring of CSR initiatives aligned with the Companies Act, 2013 (Schedule VII).
  • Develop and implement community development programs in education, healthcare, livelihoods, skill development, sanitation, and environmental sustainability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, government authorities, NGOs, Panchayats, and other key stakeholders.
  • Conduct community needs assessments, baseline surveys, and social impact studies to identify priority intervention areas.
  • Prepare annual CSR strategy, budgets, implementation plans, and project timelines in alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with CSR regulations and maintain accurate documentation, governance, and audit readiness.
  • Monitor project progress using KPIs and impact assessment frameworks; prepare periodic MIS and CSR reports for management.
  • Drive employee volunteering initiatives and foster employee participation in CSR programs.
  • Oversee CSR budgets, fund utilization, vendor payments, and financial reporting.
  • Liaise with district administration and regulatory agencies for project approvals and collaborative initiatives.
  • Support ESG, sustainability, and environmental initiatives aligned with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Handle grievance redressal mechanisms and community relations to maintain the plant's social license to operate.
  • Lead communication, documentation, and success stories for internal and external CSR reporting.
  • Evaluate project effectiveness through impact assessments and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to EHS standards while executing community projects in and around the plant.
  • Mentor and guide CSR team members, implementation partners, and field coordinators.
  • Represent the organization in CSR forums, community meetings, and government interactions.


Preferred candidate profile:

  • MBA/MSW/Postgraduate in Social Work, Rural Development, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
  • 6 to 13 years of relevant experience in CSR, community development, or sustainability, preferably in the power, energy, mining, infrastructure, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Hands-on experience in planning and implementing CSR projects in rural and industrial communities.
