Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Team Lead Accounts Payable with strong experience in payments processing and team management to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable operations, ensuring payment accuracy, improving processes, and leading a team effectively. Proficiency in English and Kannada / Telugu / Malayalam is required.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Team Lead Accounts Payable with strong experience in payments processing and team management to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable operations, ensuring payment accuracy, improving processes, and leading a team effectively. Proficiency in English and Kannada / Telugu / Malayalam is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Accounts Payable Executives ensuring timeliness and accuracy of payments
- Act as a checker/reviewer by verifying the quality and accuracy of work completed by team members
- Onboard, train, and upskill team members to improve operational efficiency and performance
- Ensure team adherence to processes, timelines, and quality standards
- Maintain trackers and proper documentation for finance transactions within the accounts payable function
- Take ownership and accountability for accounts payable outcomes and compliance
- Prepare and share daily and weekly reports related to accounts payable activities
- Resolve escalated vendor and internal stakeholder queries beyond the executive level
- Review existing processes, identify operational gaps, and implement process improvements
- Ensure all AP operations comply with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable with prior team handling experience
- Proficiency in CRM tools and payments / payouts software
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management ability
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and Kannada / Telugu / Malayalam
Additional Requirements:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic accounting principles
- Previous experience managing teams, customers, and multiple stakeholders
- Foundational knowledge of Finance and Accounting including bookkeeping, GST, and TDS
- Strong problem-solving and coordination skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
