Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Tool Room In-charge to manage tool room activities, mould maintenance, tool development, preventive maintenance and ensure the availability of moulds and tools for uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day Tool Room activities and supervise tool room technicians.
- Handle maintenance, repair and preventive maintenance of plastic injection moulds and dies.
- Plan and monitor mould servicing, breakdown maintenance and corrective actions.
- Ensure moulds are available as per production requirements and schedules.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams for mould-related issues.
- Identify mould defects such as flash, short moulding, mismatch, wear and dimensional issues.
- Maintain tool room records including mould history, maintenance records and spare parts.
- Plan and control inventory of mould components, tool room consumables and spares.
- Coordinate with external tool makers/vendors for mould repair and modification work.
- Support mould trials, modifications and improvement activities.
- Ensure proper handling, storage and identification of moulds and tools.
- Monitor tool room housekeeping, safety and 5S activities.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce mould breakdowns and downtime.
Candidate Profile
- Qualification: Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Mechatronics or equivalent.
- Experience: 510 years in Tool Room / Mould Maintenance, preferably in Plastic Injection Moulding / Automotive Industry.
- Good knowledge of Injection Moulds, Dies, Tool Maintenance and Mould Troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of mould components, hot runner systems and mould repair will be an advantage.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand basic GD&T.
- Good team handling and coordination skills.
- Candidates from automotive plastic component manufacturing will be preferred.
