Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Mould Maintenance: Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of EBM moulds, multi-head die heads, parison programmers, and auxiliary tooling.
  • Troubleshooting: Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for mould-related defects (e.g., wall thickness variation, neck flash, pinch-off issues, parting line defects).
  • Mould Development & Trials: Oversee trials, testing, and commissioning of new moulds for bottles, containers, and jars. Coordinate with external mould makers and vendors for modifications and repairs.
  • Workshop Operations: Manage precision toolroom machinery including Lathes, Milling, Surface Grinders, CNC/EDM, and polishers. Enforce 5S and TPM practices.
  • Inventory & Spares Management: Maintain stock of critical spare parts (neck rings, blow pins, inserts, cooling jackets, seals, parison dies) to prevent production delays.
  • Team & Quality Management: Supervise, assign tasks, and train toolroom fitters and machinists. Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, and plant safety standards.

Required Candidate Profile

  • Experience: solid experience in a toolroom setup within the rigid plastic packaging industry.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong background in Extrusion Blow Moulding (EBM) tooling, die construction, cooling layout, and blow-pin alignment.
  • Machining Skills: Hands-on experience with conventional toolroom machines as well as CNC/EDM equipment.
  • Software: Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Unigraphics).
  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Tool Engineering, or specialized qualifications from CIPET, NTTF, or CTTC.
