Job Description
Responsibilities:
- C reate or maintain simple JCL scripts or automation scripts to support system workloads
- Use problem solving skills to support tasks across different operating environments
- Apply basic knowledge of systems (storage, Linux/UNIX/Windows environments, etc.) to complete assigned work
- Identify and help diagnose system performance issues. Install, troubleshoot, or update programs in supported environments
- Perform system functions such as edit ing files and using utility tools. Assist in developing scripts and tools that improve automation and repeatability
- Support system recovery processes and escalate issues when needed
- Monitor assigned systems, identify unusual responses, and report findings
- Work collaboratively with other support teams to refine monitoring, reporting, and analysis. Document tasks, changes, and requests clearly and accurately, contribute to additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
- 3+ year of experience in systems engineering, system administration, DevOps, or a related technical field
- Understanding of Job Control Language (JCL) or willingness to learn
- Foundational knowledge of one or more system environments (e.g., Linux, UNIX, Windows)
- Familiarity with storage or file systems is helpful
- Exposure to virtual server environments or thin clients is beneficial
- Interest or experience in scripting for automation
- Eagerness to learn new tools, processes, and technologies . Basic problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and document work
