The Role
Own our D2C Shopify storefront end-to-end: theme development, landing pages, site speed, integrations, and custom improvements built to support growth, with room to take on more advanced engineering as the brand scales.
This is not a drag-and-drop role. You will write real code, solve real problems, and work directly with marketing, growth, and design to ship fast, reliable, conversion-focused experiences.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Develop custom sections, blocks, and theme settings for Online Store 2.0.
- Build product pages, landing pages, and campaign pages for D2C conversion.
- Improve and maintain site speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile performance, and storefront reliability. Integrate and troubleshoot Shopify apps, APIs, webhooks, and third-party tools.
- Support technical SEO, tracking setup, QA, and ongoing storefront improvements.
Skills
Must-Have
- Shopify Liquid and theme development, confident and production-grade.
- Online Store 2.0: custom sections, blocks, and settings schema.
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive and mobile-first.
- Site speed and Core Web Vitals optimisation.
- Shopify apps, APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations.
- Git and version control.
Good to Have
- Custom Shopify app development or advanced API work.
- Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (React or Next.js) for storefront enhancements.
- Basic backend or API development experience - Node.js or similar. Checkout customisation experience.
- Subscription, upsell, loyalty, or bundle app ecosystems.
- D2C or consumer ecommerce background.
Qualifications
- 5-9 years of web development with strong hands-on Shopify experience.
- Portfolio of live Shopify storefronts, with clarity on what you personally built, improved, or optimised. Comfortable owning projects from brief to production.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
