Shopify Developer

About the Role

• As a Shopify Developer at Catalys, you'll work across multiple Shopify stores, delivering new features, customizations, and optimizations for a portfolio of D2C brands.
• From theme development and custom sections to Shopify Functions and third-party integrations, you'll be responsible for building reliable, scalable solutions that improve both merchant workflows and customer experience.
• This is a client-facing role, so you'll be expected to understand business requirements, communicate progress clearly, and collaborate with designers, marketers, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality work on time.

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Shopify storefronts for multiple client accounts.
• Build and customize Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes, sections, templates, and reusable components.
• Customize Shopify themes while maintaining clean, reusable, and scalable code.
• Build and maintain custom Shopify apps or app features when required.
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and compatibility problems.
• Optimize storefront speed, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather requirements, provide updates, and resolve technical queries.
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, and internal teams to deliver projects within deadlines

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of professional Shopify development experience.
• Strong experience with Shopify Online Store 2.0, Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and responsive web development.
• Experience working with Shopify Admin APIs (REST & GraphQL), third-party integrations, and reusable Shopify theme components.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with Git in a collaborative development environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple client projects and deliver on deadlines.
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a remote team.

Nice to Have

• Experience building Shopify Apps and Shopify Functions
• Experience with React, Next.js, or Remix.
• Basic understanding of Node.js and API development.
• Knowledge of storefront performance optimization and CRO principles.
