SAAB ENGINEERING was established in 1986 with conventional lathes and second operation capstan lathes by Ajay Balagopal. After completing his Engineering in metallurgy at PSG Tech Coimbatore and working at Ms. Tafe And Ms. Billforge Pvt. Ltd Mr. Sanjiv Balagopal joined Saab Engineering In 1992. The company grew rapidly and was one of the first industries in the small scale sector to go in for CNC turning machines. SAAB Engineering with it's sister concern Savin CNC Engineering are one of the leading CNC shops and manufacturing units in Bangalore with four facilities located in Bommasandra and Jigani. In 2002 Saab Engineering setup its own cold forging unit in Bommasandra to cater to the growing demand for forged and machined components. Saab Engineering has its own Sealed Quench Furnace division at the SAAB UNIT3. This division also has pit type furnaces for annealing of components prior to cold forging.
