Job Description
THE ROLE
The Program Associate_STEM (PA) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning and overall experience of the STEM Collective in Patiala district. This is an entrepreneurial position that requires the PA to take on diverse responsibilities ranging from building and managing relationships with government stakeholders and collaborating with local institutions, to addressing on-ground challenges and leading the planning and execution of both small- and large-scale events. The PA is expected to embody and demonstrate core values such as grit, creativity, collaboration, and compassion in all aspects of their work.
Responsibilities:
The Program Associate will play a key role in supporting the planning and implementation of our district programs and initiatives.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Provide operational support in the designated district, covering all facets of STEM initiative Sanjhi Sikhiya s activities, ensuring timely and effective implementation of activities.
- Cultivate and expand a strong local support network to advance our mission within the district.
- Provide communications support, including capturing field stories and managing outreach efforts within the district.
- Act as a liaison between Sanjhi Sikhiya and government officials, NGO partners, Universities and Industry, ensuring ongoing engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Foster teamwork by collaborating with other district teams, facilitating seamless information exchange and coordination.
- Take charge of volunteer mobilization efforts, including recruitment and management, ensuring their effective involvement in PYLPs initiatives.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor s/Master s degree in STEM domains (Statistics, Economics, Sciences, Engineering, Medical, or related fields).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in the development sector with exposure to STEM education; female candidates with a STEM background will be given preference.
- Understanding of classroom pedagogy and the education governance system in India.
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills, with exposure to design thinking approaches.
- Ability to adapt quickly and function effectively in diverse work environments and field conditions.
- Proven ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in fast-paced settings.
- Proficiency in basic technical tools such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Workspace applications for program management.
- Strong communication skills; knowledge of Punjabi (reading and writing) is an advantage.

Remuneration: 4-6 lakhs CTC/year (based on experience and commitment time)
