- Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals: Nuclear Medicine Technologists are responsible for preparing radiopharmaceuticals, which are often injected into patients or ingested orally.
- They need to follow strict safety protocols to ensure that both they and the patient are not exposed to excessive amounts of radiation.
- Operating imaging equipment: Nuclear Medicine Technologists operate specialized imaging equipment such as gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT scanners to produce images of the bodys organs and tissues.
