New Product Development Executive

Role & responsibilities

1. Portfolio Planning & Product Development

• Coordinate the development of new footwear models as per the portfolio
• Coordinate phase lifts, or replacements for non-performing products.

2. New Product Development Coordination

• Coordinate all stages of product development, including design, prototype, fitting, mould development, and sample approvals.
• Maintain the NPD development tracker and monitor project milestones.
• Ensure timely closure of development activities through regular follow-ups with internal teams and vendors.

3. Product Innovation Support

• Coordinate innovation projects involving new materials, construction methods, and manufacturing processes.
• Support trials for new compounds, construction techniques, finishing methods, and modular product concepts.
• Maintain records of innovation projects and implementation status.

4. Product Show & Commercialization

• Coordinate product show, sample preparation, and dispatch.
• Prepare commercialization kits, approved artwork, costing information, and production documents.
• Ensure the timely release of commercialization documents after product approval.

5. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Coordination

• Maintain DFM tracking for mould development, phase lifts, colour additions, and upper developments.
• Organize periodic review meetings with design, mould, sourcing, and production teams.

6. Sample Management

• Coordinate prototype, moulded, fitting, and production sample development.
• Track sample dispatches and approval status.
• Ensure signed final samples are released promptly to production units.

7. Production Readiness & Quality Support

• Coordinate production sample reviews before commercial production.
• Ensure production samples match approved specifications.
• Coordinate corrective actions for quality or finishing issues with production and quality teams.

8. Vendor & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Design, PMT, Sourcing, Production, Quality, and external vendors.
• Follow up on moulds, materials, tooling, artwork, and sample readiness.
• Communicate development status and resolve project bottlenecks.

9. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain development files, BOMs, costing records, specifications, drawings, and approval history.
• Prepare weekly and monthly NPD status reports.

10. Continuous Improvement - Support initiatives to reduce development lead time and improve commercialization efficiency

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Diploma -Footwear Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, tool & die.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in Product development, product coordination, or Footwear Manufacturing.
