Role & responsibilities
Job Title: Mainframe Developer
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM
- Extensive experience in DB2, including SQL development, query optimization, performance tuning, database design, and troubleshooting
- Experience in developing and supporting mainframe applications
- Strong knowledge of batch processing and production support
- Good understanding of incident management and root cause analysis
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2
- Design, develop, and optimize complex DB2 queries and stored procedures
- Perform DB2 performance tuning and resolve database-related issues
- Provide L2/L3 production support and troubleshoot application failures
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver enhancements and fixes
Primary Skills: COBOL, JCL, DB2 (Strong Expertise), CICS, VSAM
Secondary Skills: Production Support, Incident Management, Mainframe Development, SDLC, Performance Tuning.
