Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced legal professional from law firm background between 10 to 12 years of experience to join our internal legal team. The ideal candidate must have a strong foundation in land

laws particularly ability to read all the land records and deal with revenue officers. Candidate should also have basic drafting skills of various commercial contracts. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding the

companys interests regarding various plant land purchased by the company.


Key Responsibilities


1. Land Laws (Plant and Non-Lands)

  • Provide legal support and advisory regarding the purchase, lease, and acquisition of land for manufacturing plants.
  • Conduct basic legal due diligence, title verification, and risk assessment for prospective land purchases.
  • Advise on local land laws, zoning regulations, stamp duty, and registration processes etc.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate term sheets, lease deeds, sale deeds, and various other agreements pertaining to land.

2. Litigation & Dispute Tracking of Land matters

  • Actively monitor, track, and manage all pending legal cases, disputes, and notices pertaining to the companys various lands.
  • Maintain an updated litigation tracker and management Information System (MIS) for internal reporting to senior management.
  • Brief and liaise with external legal counsels, advocates, and senior authorities to ensure effective representation in land-related disputes.
  • Draft and review legal notices, replies, affidavits, and written statements.

3. Commercial Agreements

  • Take end-to-end ownership of drafting, vetting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts for IT, HR and various other departments.
  • Manage key corporate documents, including but not limited to:
  • Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
  • Identify legal and commercial risks in contracts and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all agreements comply with statutory laws and internal corporate policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

• Experience: between 10 to 12 years , preferably with a mix of litigation pertaining to land related issues and law firm experience pertaining to drafting, vetting of various agreements.
