Job Description
Role: Lead Scientist
Qualification: Ph.D. or M.Tech in Textile engineering/ Fibre science / Materials science
Location: Navi Mumbai
Skills required:
- Sound knowledge and understanding of fibre downstream processes such as yarn spinning, weaving and knitting – hands on experience preferred
- Conversant with different yarn spinning technologies such as ring spinning, open end, compact, airjet/MVS
- Experience of product/application development with fibres is preferred
- Basic training on statistical data analysis
- Strong technical problem solving skills and good inter-personal skills
- Hands-on experience in advanced fibre characterization techniques such as SEM, XRD, Tensile testing is preferred.
- Understanding of viscose/lyocell fiber manufacturing is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Use knowledge of fibre downstream to establish new value-added fibres at the customer end
- Conduct & guide advanced fibre characterizations towards problem solving in new product development/customer complaint analysis
- Support customer/manufacturing issue resolution through characterization and analysis in short span of time.
- Guide the team of research scientists and RAs to develop & execute experimental plan. Analyze the data using statistical analysis techniques to derive inferences for business decision making.
- Write technical reports, publications and patents.
- Keep abreast of latest trends in new fiber developments by competitors and identify opportunities to utilize them for business benefit.
