L2 Infrastructure Engineer (OpenShift & Automation)

Role Overview

The L2 Infrastructure Engineer will focus on the operational health, deployment, and automation of containerized and virtualized environments. This position ensures reliable infrastructure lifecycle management, efficient node provisioning, and seamless workload transitions across hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deployment: Perform Red Hat OpenShift deployments using Agent-based installers and Hosted Control Planes (HCP).

  • OpenShift Virtualization: Deploy and manage Virtual Machines (VMs) directly within OpenShift using KubeVirt, handling basic VM migrations and lifecycle management.

  • Automation: Execute and modify Ansible playbooks for automated provisioning, patching, and configuration management across Linux and Windows nodes.

  • Operations: Support hybrid environments utilizing knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V to assist in workload transitions.

  • Troubleshooting: Provide Level 2 support for OpenShift cluster health, pod connectivity, and persistent storage issues.

Technical Requirements
  • OpenShift: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) and Kubernetes.

  • Virtualization: Strong understanding of OpenShift Virtualization along with functional knowledge of VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.

  • Automation: Proficiency in Ansible, including running playbooks and working with YAML structures.

  • Operating Systems: Solid administration skills in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server.

Certifications (Required)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration
