Jindal India Thermal Power Ltd was incorporated in the year 2006 to establish thermal power plants in India. It has established its 1200 MW Thermal Power Plant in Village Derang, Angul District, Orrisa State, India. Plant has 2 units of 600 MW each. Both of the units are already commissioned and operational since Year 2015. Angul and Talcher are the two main towns approachable from existing road network. Bhubaneshwar is the nearest Airport which is about 175 Kms from plant location and nearest Railway Station is Talcher Road which is about 45 Kms from the plant. Company has acquired approx. 1100 Acres of land consisting of tenancy and government land.Water supply agreement executed with WRD for 25 Cusecs of water. The water is being drawn from upstream of the Samal barrage on river Brahmani which is about 14 km from the plant.
