In 1961, a factory that manufactured industrial rubber products branded “HARTEX” was set up in the SSI Unit at Howrah (West Bengal) in the name of Kemrub Private Limited. By 1969, the facility was restructured to focus on bicycle tubes, given the vast scope in the Indian marketplace.
Having grown over time, another industrial unit in the name of Hartex Rubber Pvt. Ltd. (HRPL) was set up in 1987, near Hyderabad in Telangana (Andhra Pradesh at the time), with a production capacity of 2.4 million Bicycle Tyres and 0.6 million Moulded Bicycle Tubes per year. This unit commenced commercial production in record time and its product carrying the “HARTEX” brand name was established in the market as synonymous with superior quality and reliability.
