GVK is a leading Indian conglomerate with presence across energy, airports, transportation, hospitality and life sciences sectors. GVK set up India’s first independent power plant and has around 1700 MW projects under generation and operation. It is the first company in India to develop a six-lane road project under the PPP model and has around 900 lane km expressway projects under operations. As one of India’s largest private sector airport operators, GVK handles over 47 mppa through India’s first brownfield airport under PPP model, the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai and is in the process of developing one airport in Indonesia. In October, 2017 the GVK led Mumbai International Airport Limited was given the Letter of Award for developing the Navi Mumbai International Airport. MIAL will have a 74 % stake and the balance 26 % will be with CIDCO. When the first phase of this greenfield airport project is completed, it is expected to cater to 10 million passengers per annum. GVK is a socially responsible and environmentally conscious organization. Its infrastructure projects are committed to minimize ecological impact. It runs various social initiatives through the GVK Foundation which provides emergency response services, education, housing, health and hygiene, community based programs etc. for underprivileged people.
