Job Description


  • The site EHS manager is responsible for and accountable for overall EHS activities at the site level as per the factory act rules.
  • The site EHS manager will have to strictly adhere to fundamental duties defined in factory act 1948 and amendment thereafter. which is enclosed herewith as annexure for reference.
  • Conduct regular plant rounds and report unsafe acts and conditions with Corrective Actions in Gensuite System.
  • Mentor and train EHS Staff and Site Team for Good Safety Practices, Key document of IMS and Gensuite Applications.
  • Execute responsibilities of EHS Executive, male nurse and ambulance driver.
  • Conduct morning meetings and create a culture of safety first.
  • Ensure and comply with all EHS activities at the site aligned with SPCB, CPCB, IS, ISO and corporate EHS standards, policies, and overall safety goals.
  • Implement and support centralized EHS planning to maintain consistency with corporate standards across departments within the site.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of site-level EHS activities to align with the corporate safety management system and site-specific EHS objectives.
  • Ensure and supervision effective implementation of PTW and LOTO systems at the site for every non-routine activity.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and departments to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and achieve shared safety targets.
  • Provide support & assistance to site teams for EHS compliance, risk mitigation, and implementation of best practices.
  • Conduct periodic internal audit plans and ensure timely closure of observations and compliance tracking.
  • Timely completed & executing EHS infrastructure projects activity and updated status share to corporate office as and when applicable.
  • Planning and coordinating third-party safety audits (e.g., IS-14489) every two years, and ensure timely compliance with audit recommendations.
  • Ensure proper upkeeping and functionality of all FHS infrastructure at the site, maintaining 24/7 operational readiness.
  • Preparation of legal dashboard and all legal activities are compiled timely (as per factory act)
  • Ensure safety systems are met as per requirements and applicable to local, state, safety rules and regulations.
  • Preparation of PMS (safety statistics) sheet and share to corporate team every month on or before 3rd day of month.
  • Ensuring timely action and compliance reporting based on site condition photos (housekeeping, unsafe acts, and conditions) shared by the corporate team via CCTV.
  • Preparation for monthly EHS presentation share to corporate team.
  • Regular communication to corporate offices regarding EHS updates, safety systems, and compliances.
  • Conduct safety committee meetings quarterly.
  • Conduct safety circle round twice month with all safety circle team.
  • Verifying the daily EHS report and accident/incident reports and share them with the corporate team without fail."
  • Planning & execution in various safety promotional activity (road safety week, fire services day, environment day, safety week), cultural and community celebrations with Community and nearby villages.
  • Showcase the initiatives undertaken at our sites to improve the quality of life for local communities
  • Establish and maintain an Occupational Health Center (OHC), ambulance and safety briefing areas.
  • Issue safety action memo for non-compliance.

System & IMS

  • Performed role as Management representative and ensure that all departments objectives, MOC, means of objective achievement are updated in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring internal and external IMS audits are conducted and all non-conformities are closed within the defined timelines.
  • Ensuring all departmental IMS formats are verified, park in common folder in a timely manner.
  • To ensure timely investigation of any non-compliance with respect to IMS system.

ESG

  • Arranging and coordinating ESG data, scope-wise, from all departments and sharing it with the corporate team
  • Ensuring timely and accurate ESG data submission to corporate.
  • Ensuring high-resolution photographs of events, celebrations, and training sessions are shared with the corporate office.

Environment

  • Ensure CPCB/SPCB norms followed at site and arrange third party environment audit.
  • Review CGWA compliances, share compliance report timely.
  • Review CTE / CTO compliances, share compliance report timely.
  • Ensuring the operation of the ETP and maintain logs as per consent conditions.
  • Ensuring continuous operation of the APCM system at the site and maintain the logbook regularly.
  • Timely submission of mandatory submission to PCB such as Form IV, Form V, monthly data, etc.
  • Identifying gaps from environmental compliance point of view and report and take necessary steps for compliance.
  • Co-operate for statutory visits and ensure record keeping and reply to submission of the observation.
  • Regular monitoring of air, water, soil and ensure all the parameters adhering to CPCB, PCB, MoEF, guidelines and ensure compliance at site.
  • Prepare housekeeping checklists and share action points for any non-compliances identified.

Hazard identification and risk assessment

  • Preparing and conducting risk assessment activities such as HAZOP, PHA, HIRA, and JSA; ensure all control measures are implemented within the defined timeline and share the compliance report with the corporate team.
  • Preparing and implementing the Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) processes, ensuring all changes align with the Safety Management System (SMS) and risk control measures.

Document Management and standardization

  • Implementing the EHS Policy and EHS Manual across the site to ensure compliance with organizational standards and legal requirements
  • Implementing SOPs and ensuring compliances to align with corporate EHS strategies, legal requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Implementing checklist and documents to meet corporate EHS strategies and enhance safety systems.
  • Implementing safety signages, posters, and booklets to maintain standards and uniformity.

Emergency and response planning

  • Preparing & monitoring the on-site Emergency Response Plan (ERP) to ensure it remains current, effective, and compliant.
  • Regularly reviewing and conducting training to ensure the Emergency Response Plan is effective and all personnel are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
  • After every incident or accident, conduct RCA using the Why-Why method and share the investigation report with action points to the corporate office
  • Implementing and reviewing process improvements to reduce or eliminate hazards across all sites, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Regularly conducting mock drills and ensuring timely compliance with corrective actions.
  • Handling all crisis and emergencies at the site level and informing the Business head, production head, other site team members and corporate TS&I team.

Finance and Accounts

  • Preparation of EHS budget.
  • Verification of EHS budget utilization at regular intervals.

Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Ensuring safety equipment purchases meet IS standards.
  • Preparation of PR, PO and invoice for EHS related activities at

Site.

Training, Induction program and skill development

  • Preparing and executing the training planner for both corporate and site levels.
  • Ensure conducting TBT and verifying effectiveness and maintain record.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the training.
  • Providing induction, refresher, and visitor training.

Gensuite system

  • Regularly updating in Gensuite system.
  • All Action tracking system and Concern reporting to be closed with proper attachment of evidence.
  • All monitoring report and compliance evidence to uploading Compliance calendar.
  • All FIR- incidents are logged with proper RCA using the why-why method update in Incident & Measurement.
  • All the inspection tools checklist to be filled without fail.
  • Verifying and ensuring site performance is tracked effectively using the Gensuite system.
  • Analyse and reviewing the Gensuite dashboard regularly and share updates with site departments.
