Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Role Summary

The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) systems across the manufacturing plant. The role involves ensuring statutory compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, minimizing environmental impact, and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices across the plant.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System).
• Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRA, and implement effective control measures.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Plan and conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Drive Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) and continuous safety awareness programs.
• Monitor waste management, hazardous waste handling, emissions, and pollution control activities.
• Coordinate with government authorities such as the Pollution Control Board, Factory Inspectorate, Fire Department, and other regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, environmental regulations, and other statutory requirements.
• Manage emergency preparedness, fire safety systems, mock drills, and disaster management plans.
• Develop and deliver EHS induction and training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Monitor EHS KPIs and prepare MIS reports for management review.
• Promote sustainability initiatives including energy conservation, water management, and waste reduction.
• Support ESG initiatives and ensure environmental reporting requirements are met.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, HR, and Operations teams to foster a proactive safety culture.
