Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Define and execute the organization's technology strategy, roadmap, and digital transformation agenda in alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the architecture, development, implementation, and modernization of enterprise technology platforms and applications.
- Own technology decisions across cloud, software engineering, data, AI/ML, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
- Build scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective technology solutions.
- Lead engineering and technology teams, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and organizational development.
- Establish engineering standards, architecture principles, development practices, and technology governance frameworks.
- Drive cloud adoption, application modernization, DevOps, automation, CI/CD, and platform engineering initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to leverage AI, Generative AI, automation, and cloud-native technologies.
- Manage technology budgets, resource allocation, vendor relationships, and technology investments.
- Ensure compliance with information-security, data-privacy, regulatory, and enterprise-governance requirements.
- Establish and monitor technology KPIs covering reliability, scalability, security, delivery performance, cost, and engineering productivity.
- Partner with business, product, finance, operations, security, and senior leadership teams to translate business needs into technology initiatives.
- Manage major technology programs, risks, dependencies, incidents, and escalations.
- Oversee technology architecture and ensure solutions can scale with business growth.
- Drive continuous improvement in software quality, engineering productivity, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Present technology strategy, investment proposals, risks, and performance metrics to C-suite and executive leadership.
Preferred candidate profile
- 7 to 12 years of experience in software engineering, technology architecture, engineering management, IT leadership, or related technology roles.
- Demonstrated experience progressing from hands-on technical roles into technology/engineering leadership.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud computing, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, databases, DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and application modernization.
- Experience leading large or distributed engineering teams and managing senior technical professionals.
- Strong understanding of technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, compliance, and data privacy.
- Experience managing technology budgets, vendors, technology investments, and delivery partners.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute technology roadmaps and digital transformation programs.
- Exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI, data platforms, automation, and emerging technologies is highly desirable.
- Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology investments to revenue, efficiency, customer experience, and business growth.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, DevOps, or product-oriented technology environments.
- Master's degree, MBA, or relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
- Candidates with experience in GCCs, product companies, large enterprises, or technology-led organizations are particularly well suited.
