Consultant - Histopathology

Lab Operations:

• Coordinates the activities of dept. of Histopathology.
• Provides diagnostic and therapeutic information by maintaining specimen preparation; certifying instrument performance; developing and implementing analytical procedures; evaluating data and reporting results.
• Maintains productivity by monitoring workload, identifying peak and slack periods; making operational or staffing adjustments.
• Performs grossing.
• Reports Histopathology, cytology, frozen section, IHCIF.
• Maintains the quality of slides and performs FNAC.
• Coordinates to take corrective measures if calibrations, results are out of range.
• Liaisoning with the Management and other departments to ensure smooth functioning.

Quality Control:

• Maintains standards by participating in the hospital quality assurance programs; reviewing quality control and assurance programs; generating reports and maintaining records.
• Improves quality results by studying evaluating and redesigning process, maintaining and upgrading quality control.
• Facilitates implementation of new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation and procedures by investigating alternatives; developing and performing parallel testing; monitoring progress towards stated objectives.

Inventory:

• Maintains histopathology supplies, inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies.

MIS:

• Maintains lab information system by identifying information needs and problems; recommending improvements; establishing priorities; developing user manuals; maintaining security and confidentiality of information.
