Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Raw Material stores Operations
- Receive goods receipt notes in line with laid down processes and intimate users/Quality department for stock inspection and verification
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of all material items to ensure easy retrieval and meet safety norms
- Maintain cleanliness, safety and security at the Stores
- Implement good housekeeping practices in stores so that material receipt, handling, storing and issue can be done efficiently
- Support in all internal (5S, EHS, Quality Audit) and external audits (OEM, Quality) etc.
- Conduct root cause analysis for customer complaints concerned with the stores department such as wrong dispatch, improper stacking, improper packaging etc.
- Drive process and cost optimization by taking up improvement projects / initiatives within such as 5S etc.
Inventory Management
- Maintain the inventory of all non-rm materials ensure reconciliation with SAP figures and actual stock audit.
- Accurately disburse material from stores for production with proper documentation and tracking.
- Issue stock to Production in the correct sequence, that is, first in expiry first out”.
- Check for stock accumulation, discrepancies and abnormal consumption and highlight to Stores Head to take up with Purchase and Production.
Health & Safety
- Ensure safety measures are consistently followed and take initiative to enhance acceptance of safety as a culture so as to achieve zero accident level
- Train workmen on correct methods of handling the material handling machinery and equipment so as to reduce accidents
- Conduct physical stock audits and cross-check inventory of raw materials and final goods, to ensure accuracy of record keeping and ensure tallies with SAP figures
- Coordinate with quality for inward material quality check and return the rejected material to suppliers promptly
- Ensure accuracy of material disbursement for production, with proper documentation and tracking
MIS
- Maintain proper documentation for all stores transactions – receipts, any dispatch of material
- Maintain documents related to GST, explosive licensed documents & record are accurate and properly documented
- Ensure that material transfer data is stored accurately in SAP
People Management
- Ensure that adequate manpower is being utilized as per approved standards for store operations and look for opportunities to reduce manpower cost
- Maintain accurate records of manpower deployed and ensure that contractor records (for billing purpose) are in line with the same
- Resolve day to day worker grievance / worker issues and ensure that the work environment is productive and peaceful
- Maintain good working relations with the unions, workmen and other contract staff
- Ensure staff is adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that the work can be completed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
