Viltis is a Lithuanian folkdance and culture organization. It publishes a magazine, organizes workshops and festivals, and promotes Lithuanian folk traditions internationally. It is dedicated to preserving and celebrating Lithuanian heritage through dance, music, and related cultural activities.
About Us
Viltis, meaning "hope" in Lithuanian, was founded in 1942 by Vytautas Beliajus, a Lithuanian immigrant and renowned folk dancer. Beliajus established Viltis as a means to connect people through folk dance and to preserve and share Lithuanian culture, especially during times of war and displacement. The organization has grown into a global network of folk dance enthusiasts and Lithuanian cultural advocates.
