About Us

Viltis, meaning "hope" in Lithuanian, was founded in 1942 by Vytautas Beliajus, a Lithuanian immigrant and renowned folk dancer. The organization has grown into a global network of folk dance enthusiasts and Lithuanian cultural advocates.

Mission

The mission of Viltis is to promote, preserve, and celebrate Lithuanian folk traditions, particularly dance and music, and to foster intercultural understanding and community through these art forms.
