The Modern Classroom Project (MCP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering educators to create student-centered, blended, and self-paced learning environments. MCP provides free professional development, resources, and a global community for teachers looking to transform their classrooms. Their core focus is on implementing the Modern Classroom Model, which blends direct instruction with self-paced learning and mastery-based grading.
About Us
Founded by educators Kareem Farah and Robert Barnett, the Modern Classroom Project (MCP) aims to transform learning by creating more effective and engaging classroom experiences. Driven by the development of the Modern Classroom Model, Farah and Barnett began sharing their innovative teaching methods, which spurred the growth of MCP into a global network of educators. This network is dedicated to implementing and refining innovative teaching practices. To support educators in adopting the Modern Classroom Model, MCP offers a comprehensive suite of services. These include structured online courses providing in-depth training, interactive workshops fostering collaborative learning, and personalized coaching offering tailored guidance. Beyond these paid services, MCP also provides a wealth of free resources designed to lower the barrier to entry for educators interested in exploring the model. These freely available materials include customizable lesson templates to streamline lesson planning, instructional videos demonstrating key concepts and techniques, and informative articles offering practical advice and theoretical background. The project continues to expand its reach, empowering teachers worldwide with the tools and knowledge to create modern classrooms that foster student success and engagement.
