Job Details: Functional Payment Tester Role

Location: Pune

Required Skills:

• Own functional testing for payments change delivery, ensuring end-to-end payment journeys work as designed across channels and back-office processing, with strong focus on ISO 20022 (MX) message correctness, interoperability, and regulatory/market compliance.
• Design and execute end-to-end functional tests covering initiation validation routing clearing/settlement posting reporting/reconciliation.
• Validate behavior across channels (online, host-to-host, APIs), payment engines, sanctions screening, AML monitoring, and downstream ledgers.
• create and maintain test scenarios for ISO 20022 message types, for example:

1. pacs.008 (FI to FI customer credit transfer)
2. pacs.009 (FI to FI transfer)
3. pacs.002 (payment status report)
4. camt.052/053/054 (statements/notifications)
5. pain.001 (customer credit transfer initiation) where applicable
6. PACS 002, PACS004

Stakeholder collaboration

• Work closely with Product Owners, BAs, Developers, Ops, and scheme/market practice SMEs.
• Coordinate with upstream/downstream teams for integrated testing and environment readiness.
• Strong understanding of payment lifecycles, clearing/settlement concepts, cut-offs, value dating, charges, and exception handling.
