Position - Technical Business Analyst
Experience - 3–5 Years
Job Overview
We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with 3–5 years of experience who can effectively bridge the gap between business requirements and technology teams.
The candidate should have strong analytical and documentation skills, a good understanding of software development life cycles, APIs, databases, and application architecture, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, developers, QA, and other technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Requirement Analysis
* Understand business requirements and translate them into clear and actionable technical requirements.
* Conduct discussions with business stakeholders to understand processes, pain points, and expected outcomes.
* Gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
* Identify gaps, dependencies, assumptions, and potential risks in requirements.
* Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRD).
* Create user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases.
* Clarify requirements and resolve queries raised by development and QA teams.
Technical Analysis
* Understand the overall application architecture and end-to-end application flow.
* Work closely with developers to understand technical feasibility and implementation approaches.
* Have a good understanding of REST APIs, request/response structures, JSON, HTTP methods, and API integrations.
* Understand database concepts and be able to write basic-to-intermediate SQL queries for data validation and analysis.
* Analyze application workflows and identify dependencies between frontend, backend, database, and external systems.
* Review API documentation and coordinate with external/internal technology teams for integrations.
* Perform basic troubleshooting and help identify whether an issue is related to business logic, API, database, or application functionality.
Documentation
* Prepare and maintain:
* BRD (Business Requirements Document)
* FRD (Functional Requirements Document)
* User Stories
* Use Cases
* Process Flow Diagrams
* API/Integration Documentation
* Data Mapping Documents
* Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)
* Acceptance Criteria
* Maintain proper versioning and ensure documentation is updated based on requirement changes.
Stakeholder Management
* Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
* Coordinate with developers, QA, project managers, infrastructure, security, and external vendors.
* Conduct requirement walkthroughs and clarification sessions.
* Communicate changes, dependencies, risks, and issues effectively.
* Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, UAT, and release discussions.
Testing & UAT
* Work with QA teams to ensure requirements are adequately covered in test scenarios.
* Review test cases from a business perspective.
* Support SIT/UAT activities and clarify business scenarios.
* Validate application functionality against approved requirements.
* Assist in defect analysis and prioritization.
* Coordinate with business users during UAT and support issue resolution.
Required Technical Skills
Must Have:
* 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst / Business Analyst in a software development environment.
* Strong requirement gathering and analysis skills.
* Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
* Experience creating BRD, FRD, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
* Good understanding of REST APIs and API integrations.
* Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
* Understanding of JSON, HTTP methods, status codes, and API request/response structures.
* Ability to understand technical architecture and application workflows.
* Strong documentation and communication skills.
* Experience working with Jira, Confluence, or similar requirement/project management tools.
Good to Have:
* Basic understanding of Java/Spring Boot and React.js or any modern backend/frontend technology.
* Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
* Knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI.
* Understanding of UML and system/process flow diagrams.
* Experience with tools such as Draw.io, Visio, or similar.
* Exposure to CI/CD, Git, Linux, and cloud environments.
* Experience working on financial services, banking, capital markets, or other regulated-domain applications is an advantage.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
* 3–5 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis / Technical Business Analysis.
