Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tableau Developer with strong expertise in SQL, business requirement gathering, data visualization, and dashboard development. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver scalable, interactive, and insightful Tableau dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and reporting requirements from stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and Tableau dashboard solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau.
• Develop data visualizations, calculated fields, parameters, filters, sets, and dashboard actions.
• Write complex and optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
• Work with relational databases and integrate multiple data sources into Tableau.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with business users to understand KPIs, metrics, and reporting needs.
• Conduct requirement-gathering sessions, workshops, and discussions with stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot performance, data, and dashboard-related issues.
• Optimize Tableau workbooks, extracts, and SQL queries for better performance.
• Participate in testing, UAT, deployment, and post-production support.
• Maintain technical documentation, data definitions, dashboard specifications, and user guides.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and query optimization.
• Experience in business requirement gathering and stakeholder management.
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles and dashboard design.
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar.
• Ability to translate business requirements into meaningful KPIs and visualizations.
• Experience with data analysis, data validation, and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Tableau certifications such as Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Certified Data Analyst.
• Experience with Tableau Prep.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and data integration.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages is an advantage.

Experience

• 48 years of experience in Tableau development, business intelligence, or data analytics.
• Proven experience in gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders and delivering end-to-end BI solutions.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
