Staff Software Engineer - Backend

Preferred candidate profile

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of delivering impactful, multi-team technical projects.
• Proficiency in Java and C#/.Net programming languages.
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server),
• Columnar data storage and NoSQL data stores at scale.
• Expertise in developing production-grade RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud-native applications using Docker & Kubernetes, as well as on-premise solutions.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
• Solid grasp of software design principles, architectural best practices, and writing well-tested, high-quality code.
• Advanced knowledge of multi-threading, memory management, and query processing.
• Passion for ensuring application scalability, availability, reliability, security, and cost-effective execution.
• Resilience and adaptability in navigating organizational and technical change.
• Deep knowledge of testing strategies and system health maintenance for complex systems.

Education

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

The Platform Engineering team at Moodys Insurance Solutions builds the foundational services, infrastructure, and tooling that power our SaaS products. The team partners closely with product engineering groups to enable faster delivery, higher quality, and long-term platform scalability. As a Senior Software Engineer, youll play a key role in shaping backend services that support our growing insurance technology ecosystem.
