Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Design Lead with 12+ years of industry experience in FPGA development, DO-254 compliant avionics projects, RTL design, verification, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Xilinx and Microchip FPGA technologies, end-to-end FPGA development lifecycle execution, customer interaction, proposal preparation, and engineering team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead FPGA development projects through the complete project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture definition, design, verification, validation, integration, and deployment.
- Execute FPGA development activities in compliance with DO-254 certification guidelines for safety-critical aerospace and avionics applications.
- Develop high-quality RTL designs using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Perform FPGA verification activities including simulation, testbench development, functional verification, and debugging.
- Design and implement FPGA-based solutions using Xilinx and Microchip FPGA platforms.
- Lead technical reviews including requirements reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and verification reviews.
- Interface with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Prepare technical proposals, estimations, project plans, and support business development activities.
- Manage and mentor engineering teams of up to 10 engineers.
- Drive project execution, resource allocation, risk management, and technical decision-making.
- Support FPGA-based product development from concept through production release.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, system, and verification teams for successful product delivery.
Required Technical Skills
FPGA Design & Verification
- Extensive experience in FPGA RTL design and verification.
- Strong knowledge of FPGA architecture and implementation methodologies.
- Experience in timing closure, synthesis, place-and-route, and performance optimization.
FPGA Platforms
- Xilinx FPGA families (Spartan, Artix, Kintex, Virtex, Zynq, Ultrascale).
- Microchip FPGA families (RTG4, PolarFire, SmartFusion, ProASIC).
Development Tools
- Xilinx Vivado
- Xilinx Vitis
- Microchip Libero SoC
- Simulation and debugging tools like Modelsim/Questasim
Interface Protocols
Hands-on design and integration experience with:
- AXI
- AHB
- SPI
- I2C
- UART
- PCIe
- Ethernet
- DDR3/4
- External Parallel interfaces between processors and FPGA
Domain Experience

- 12+ years of experience in FPGA based RTL design, development and verification.
- Proven experience in DO-254 full lifecycle projects and Familiarity with aerospace certification processes.
