Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Senior Patent Analyst to join our Life Sciences and Chemistry team . This role provides the opportunity to work alongside some of the most innovative researchers in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Key Responsibilities - Conduct patent searches and analysis in Life Sciences and Chemistry domains (e.g., Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Polymer Science, Food Science, Biochemistry, Organic/Physical Chemistry).
- Utilize paid databases (Questel Orbit, Derwent Innovation) and tools such as MS Excel for data analysis.
- Perform and deliver:
- Landscape searches identify trends and present graphical insights.
- Freedom-to-Operate (FTO)/Clearance searches provide technical assessments.
- Patentability, Novelty, and State-of-Art searches summarize findings and conclusions.
- Validity/Invalidity searches provide clear opinions and structured reports.
- Analyze client inputs to identify key concepts, keywords, classifications, and references for quick and precise searches.
- Research technologies, company portfolios, patents, and products to build taxonomies and deeper understanding of subject matter.
- Screen and categorize large patent datasets efficiently using claims, titles, and abstracts.
- Perform end-to-end searches , including self-review and quality checks, ensuring high-quality deliverables within deadlines.
- Collaborate with project managers by sharing insights, raising challenges, and communicating effectively with clients.
- Support in pre-sales activities, proposals, and ad-hoc requests , alongside regular project work.
- Identify areas for self-learning and skill enhancement to continually improve expertise.
- Education: B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. in relevant scientific fields (Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry).
- Experience: 1.5 3 years of experience in patent research and analysis.
