Position

Job Purpose
.
Key Responsibilities
1. PipingRehabilitation
-
- Identify damaged, corroded, obsolete or non-performing piping components requiring rehabilitation.
- Plan dismantling, replacement, modification and rerouting of existing piping.
- Coordinate shutdown activities and ensure minimum disruption to plant operations.
- Prepare site measurements, material requirements and work execution plans.
2. PipingErection
- Supervise erection and installation of carbon steel, stainless steel, DI, HDPE, UPVC and other piping systems as applicable.
- Ensure proper pipe alignment, fit-up, welding, supports, expansion arrangements and installation.
- Monitor fabrication and erection activities as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Ensure proper installation of valves, strainers, expansion joints, flanges, fittings and other piping accessories.
- Coordinate installation of pipe supports, brackets, hangers and structural arrangements.
3.Fabrication & Welding
- Review piping fabrication drawings, isometrics, GA drawings and P&IDs.
- Supervise pipe cutting, beveling, fit-up and welding activities.
- Coordinate with welders, fabricators and subcontractors.
- Ensure welding is performed as per approved WPS/PQR and project specifications.
- Coordinate NDT activities such as DP, MPI, radiography and ultrasonic testing wherever applicable.
4.Testing & Commissioning
- Plan and supervise hydrostatic, pneumatic and leakage testing of piping systems.
- Ensure flushing, cleaning, pressure testing and reinstatement of piping systems.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Identify and rectify leakage, alignment and installation-related issues.
- Prepare test packs, inspection records and commissioning documentation.
5. SiteExecution & Coordination
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors at site.
- Monitor daily progress against project schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process and Operations teams.
- Resolve site execution issues and technical constraints.
- Ensure availability of drawings, materials, manpower, tools and equipment for execution.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and coordinate work fronts.
6.Quality & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, BOQ, specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams and consultants.
- Maintain inspection requests, material records, test reports and as-built documentation.
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and maintain site records.
- Ensure proper handover documentation after completion of works.
7. Safety
- Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and statutory safety procedures.
- Ensure safe execution of hot work, confined-space work, lifting, working at height and shutdown activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure implementation of approved method statements.
- Stop unsafe work and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Key Technical Knowledge

- P&ID, GA drawings and piping isometrics.
- Pipe supports and mechanical equipment connections.
- Valves, fittings, flanges, expansion joints and strainers.
- Welding and NDT processes.
- Hydro testing, flushing and commissioning.
- Rehabilitation and modification of existing WTP piping systems.
- Knowledge of relevant piping codes and standards such as ASME, IS, API and project-specific specifications.
Educational Qualification
- from a recognized institution.
Experience
- 510 years of relevant experience in mechanical piping erection, rehabilitation and site execution.
- Experience in WTP/STP/ETP, water infrastructure, industrial utilities or EPC projects will be preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in rehabilitation/modification of existing operating plants will have an advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile
Ahands-on Mechanical Piping Engineer with strong site executionexperience in WTP rehabilitation, piping replacement, dismantling,fabrication, erection, testing and commissioning , capable of independentlymanaging contractors and coordinating multidisciplinary site activities.
