Job Description
PURPOSE
This job description outlines the key responsibilities in driving top-line growth through strategic pricing, inventory control, demand forecasting, and business intelligence. The role focuses on maximizing revenue across rooms, MICE, F&B, and ancillary revenue streams by aligning pricing strategies with market demand, competitor analysis, and sales performance. It involves working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to support data-driven decisions that enhance profitability while maintaining the property s brand positioning and service excellence.
Reports to: Director of Sales & Marketing
Interacts with:
- External OTAs, distribution platforms, corporate travel agents, auditing partners, revenue consultants
- Internal Functional Heads, Sales, Marketing, Reservations, Front Office, Finance, IT, and Hotel Operations teams
Inventory & Pricing Strategy:
- Monitor booking pace, pick-up trends and analyze hotel revenue performance to develop dynamic pricing strategies across room types and segments.
- Manage room authorizations including rates, restrictions and release of block space to optimize revenue from both transient and group segments.
- Oversee function space inventory, ensuring effective allocation in alignment with revenue goals.
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to ensure revenue recognition is accurate and aligned with the hotels financial goals.
Revenue Strategy Implementation
- Build and embed sales and pricing strategies in property systems, collaborating closely with reservations, sales, and revenue operations.
- Implement segment-specific tactical offers, stay controls, and rate fences in collaboration with Sales and Marketing.
- Monitor booking windows and adjust strategies based on fluctuating market conditions.
Initiate, execute, and evaluate pricing experiments and revenue tests to capture demand and boost RevPAR. - Weekly revenue strategy meetings to assess business mix, forecast accuracy, and market demand.
Analytics, Forecasting & Reporting
- Compile, analyze, and monitor sales performance against forecasts and targets.
- Prepare comprehensive rolling forecasts for rooms by segment, channel and DOW, covering short-term, quarterly and long-term planning as well as budget projections.
- Drive RevPAR and Total Revenue optimization by maximizing average rates and occupancy balance.
Generate reports highlighting revenue opportunities, demand patterns and strategic insights for stakeholders. - Support the annual budget process with data-driven projections and scenario-based planning.
- Monitor channel performance, rate parity, and cost of distribution across all systems.
Applied Learning
- Stay abreast of market intelligence, competitor pricing, and distribution trends.
- Champion revenue-focused learning by conducting cross-functional training on forecasting, BAR strategies, and channel management.
- Evaluate system tools (PMS) for optimization opportunities and participate in system upgrades or audits.
- Leverage business intelligence dashboards and market reports (e.g., STR, RateGain) to inform strategic decisions.
Leadership
- Drive a revenue culture across departments by aligning stakeholders with business goals.
- Lead weekly strategy and forecast meetings with key department heads.
- Represent the commercial interest of the hotel in corporate budget meetings and brand reviews.
- Influence and collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to align efforts with forecasted demand.
People Management
- Mentor and guide revenue and reservations team members by providing structured learning and regular performance feedback.
- Coordinate with HR and Learning & Development to upskill team members in data interpretation and system usage.
- Establish a shared vision for performance, innovation, and accountability within the commercial team.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, pricing parity, and inventory controls.
- Monitor booking trends and flag potential rate leakage, duplicate entries, or revenue loss.
- Maintain system integrity across PMS and other channels.
- Liaise with finance on rate audits, reconciliations, and monthly revenue reporting.
Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and risk mitigation in all data handling.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR/data privacy norms for guest, booking, and revenue data.
- Maintain audit logs of manual overrides, closed-out periods, and exception pricing.
- Coordinate with IT and operations on system security protocols and software reliability
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree/Diploma from an accredited university in Hotel Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields. Specialized certifications in Revenue Management, Data Analytics, or Distribution Systems
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years or more experience in hospitality, preferably with luxury hospitality
