Job Description

About Us

WeHYB is hiring for a seasonal beachfront restaurant, bar and events venue in Colomb Bay, South Goa. The venue operates across daytime dining, sunset service, dinner, weddings, private functions and curated music and cultural events. The hospitality style is warm, relaxed and personal, supported by clear standards, professional systems and strong teamwork.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, highly organised and hands-on Head of Restaurant Operations to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the venue. This role is broader than a traditional floor-management position. The successful candidate must run the operation through SOPs, staff training, reporting and strong operational controls, ensuring consistent standards even when the owner is not present.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the daily operation of the restaurant, bar and guest areas
  • Lead pre-service briefings and supervise opening, service and closing procedures
  • Implement, maintain and enforce operational SOPs, standards and checklists
  • Recruit, onboard, train, roster and supervise the front-of-house team
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, performance and staff conduct
  • Coordinate communication and workflow between FOH, kitchen, bar, finance and events
  • Maintain a visible, hands-on management presence during service
  • Manage reservations, table allocation, large groups, private functions and guest concerns
  • Train the team in menu knowledge, POS use, natural upselling, complaint handling and service standards
  • Oversee POS use, billing, cash handling, discounts, voids and complimentary items
  • Supervise bar and kitchen stock counts and follow up on variances
  • Monitor wastage, breakages, transfers, purchasing procedures and supplier deliveries
  • Assist with payroll, overtime, casual labour and operational cost control
  • Review daily sales summaries and investigate discrepancies
  • Prepare clear daily and weekly operational reports for the owner
  • Plan staffing and operations for weddings, Saturday Sessions and special events
  • Arrange and supervise ODC staff when required
  • Oversee housekeeping, gardening, maintenance, security and overall venue presentation
  • Follow up repairs and assigned actions until they are completed
  • Maintain hygiene, food-safety, fire-safety and workplace-safety standards

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum three years' management experience in a restaurant, hotel, beach club or comparable hospitality venue
  • Proven responsibility for a complete operation, not only supervision of the floor
  • Strong experience implementing SOPs, training staff and maintaining accountability
  • Working knowledge of stock control, cost control, POS and cash-management procedures
  • Experience preparing rosters and aligning staffing with business levels
  • Comfortable with reports, spreadsheets, checklists and performance targets
  • Strong spoken and written English
  • Hands-on, organised, reliable, commercially aware and attentive to detail
  • Calm and decisive during busy services and unexpected situations
  • Able to work independently while keeping the owner properly informed
  • Experience managing weddings, events or high-volume service is an advantage
  • Available for evenings, weekends, public holidays and events

Other Benefits:

Staff accommodation, staff meals, 1 day off/week, 1.5 days paid leave per completed month, salary paid on the 8th of each month
