Job Description
As a Reader in the Department of General Surgery, you will play a crucial role in achieving the mission and vision of JKKN College of Dental and Hospital. You will be responsible for teaching General Surgery to undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting research, providing clinical services, and participating in departmental and college activities.
Responsibilities:
- Teach General Surgery to undergraduate and postgraduate students, including providing clinical training in surgical procedures
- Conduct original research in the field of General Surgery, publish research papers in academic journals, and present research findings at conferences and seminars
- Provide clinical services in General Surgery, including outpatient consultations and surgical procedures, as well as participate in multidisciplinary clinics and meetings
- Participate in departmental meetings, assist in curriculum development, and help coordinate academic and clinical activities within the department
- Mentor and supervise junior faculty members and trainees, including residents and fellows, and provide guidance and support in their academic and clinical development
- Maintain knowledge of current developments and trends in General Surgery through continuing education, attendance at conferences and seminars, and participation in professional organizations
- Participate in community service activities and outreach programs organized by the college and department
- Collaborate with other faculty members within the department and across other departments to enhance interdisciplinary approaches to teaching, research, and clinical work
- Provide leadership in the department and contribute to the overall mission and goals of the institution
Qualifications:
- A postgraduate degree (M.D.S) in General Surgery or a related field
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching, research, and clinical work in the field of General Surgery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Active participation in professional organizations and community service activities
