Ravello Systems
Overview
Ravello Systems was an Israeli cloud computing company that developed a hypervisor that allowed enterprises to run their VMware and KVM-based workloads on public clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) without any modifications. Their technology essentially created a nested virtualization environment that abstracted the underlying public cloud infrastructure.
About Us
Ravello Systems was founded in 2011 and was acquired by Oracle in February 2016. The company aimed to simplify the process of migrating and running existing enterprise workloads on public clouds. Their technology enabled users to define their application environments as blueprints, which could then be deployed on any supported public cloud. This facilitated hybrid cloud deployments and disaster recovery scenarios.
