Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated RD Test Lab Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy India Limited. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing tests on our cutting-edge power systems products and solutions, contributing to their reliability and performance.
Responsibilities - Design and develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for new and existing power product prototypes and components.
- Set up and operate various test equipment, including high-voltage test setups, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems.
- Execute a wide range of electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests, ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal specifications.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data, identifying trends, anomalies, and potential design flaws.
- Prepare detailed test reports, documenting test setups, procedures, results, and conclusions.
- Collaborate closely with RD engineers, design teams, and production to provide feedback on product performance and suggest improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during testing, optimizing test methodologies as needed.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring its accuracy and reliability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes, methodologies, and laboratory infrastructure.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices within the test lab environment.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in a test lab environment, preferably within the power systems or electrical manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power electronics, and high-voltage testing.
- Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, data loggers, and environmental chambers.
- Proficiency in data acquisition and analysis software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar).
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI, IEEE) for power equipment testing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise reporting.
