Quality Engineer

Role & responsibilities

The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring that aerospace components meet quality standards and customer requirements. The role includes inspection, documentation, process monitoring, and quality improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Testing: Design comprehensive test plans, risk-based testing frameworks, and quality metrics.
• Process Control: Implement statistical process controls (SPC) and failure analysis tools like FMEA.
• Root-Cause Analysis: Investigate production or software defects and drive corrective actions (CAPA).
• Auditing & Compliance: Maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and lead internal or supplier audits.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Guide cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers

1. Inspection & Quality Control

• Perform in-process and final inspection of components
• Verify dimensions using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM)
• Ensure product meets drawing and GD&T requirements

2. Documentation & Quality Records

• Prepare inspection reports
• Maintain quality documents and records
• Handle First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation

3. Quality System Compliance

• Follow AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards
• Support internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards

4. Root Cause Analysis

• Identify quality issues
• Perform root cause analysis
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

5. Process Improvement

• Monitor production quality
• Suggest improvements to reduce defects
• Support continuous improvement activities

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of GD&T
• Knowledge of measuring instruments
• Knowledge of CMM inspection
• Knowledge of aerospace quality standards
• Good documentation skills

Preferred Skills (Aerospace Industry)

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience with AS9100,NATCAP
• Experience in aerospace machining industry
• Knowledge of FAI, PPAP, CAPA
