Qa Engineer

Work Location : Mohali ( Onsite ) , Local candidates are preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements, application workflows, and acceptance criteria before starting testing.
• Participate in the complete Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including test planning, test case design, execution, defect reporting, retesting, and release validation.
• Design, maintain, and execute test cases and test scenarios, including positive, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.
• Perform Functional, UI, Smoke, Sanity, Regression, Retesting, and Ad-hoc Testing.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects with clear steps, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence.
• Perform API testing using Postman, including validation of requests, responses, status codes, and data.
• Perform database validation and testing using SQL queries, with exposure to databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB.
• Test web applications across supported browsers and environments.
• Perform release validation and ensure critical application workflows are functioning as expected.
• Collaborate with Developers and Business Analysts to investigate defects and clarify requirements.
• Coordinate with the Deployment team during release and production validation activities when required.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint-level QA activities.
• Contribute to improving test coverage, QA processes, and overall testing efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1 - 2 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
• Strong understanding of Manual Testing, SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle.
  Basic programming or scripting knowledge in Java, Python, or a similar language is an advantage.
• Experience testing web applications; exposure to mobile application testing (Android/iOS) is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, Retesting, and UI Testing.
  Should have knowledge of database (SQL, mysql, Postgres sql, mongoDB),
• Ability to create and execute effective test cases and test scenarios.
• Working knowledge of Jira or similar defect-tracking tools.
• Basic hands-on experience with REST API testing using Postman.
• Familiarity with the use of AI tools in Quality Assurance is preferred.
• Experience or understanding of FinTech, financial markets, or trading applications is an added advantage.
