Python Automation Engineer - (Need Immediate Joiners only)

Role Objective

• Design, develop and maintain automation test suites for infrastructure validation across server, storage and XC1 environments.
• Build reusable Robot Framework keywords and Python libraries for API, CLI, SSH, Redfish and virtualisation-driven automation.
• Improve regression repeatability, execution efficiency, evidence capture and early defect detection for server and storage workflows.
• Support phased automation delivery covering quick-win API scenarios, core regression modules and complex infrastructure-dependent workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation framework development
• Develop scalable Robot Framework suites with reusable keyword libraries and structured reports.
• Create Python helper libraries for REST APIs, firmware operations, Redfish calls, log capture and validations.
• Maintain coding standards, modular framework design, version control hygiene and review readiness.
• Server domain automation
• Automate server discovery, inventory, power actions, health validation, monitoring events and alert verification.
• Validate BMC management APIs for hardware-level inventory, health, storage and RAID operations.
• Automate firmware update flows including rule selection, prioritised/immediate activation, polling and post-update validation.
• Storage and RAID automation
• Automate storage inventory, RAID template validation, drive/controller health checks and storage alert verification.
• Develop Redfish/API-based validations for storage configuration, RAID operations and monitoring event workflows.
• Capture execution evidence, logs and defects for storage-related scenarios with clear traceability.
• Infrastructure and OS deployment automation
• Automate OS-level validation using SSHLibrary for remote shell access, post-deployment checks and log collection.
• Automate guest-level validation for VMware environments and KVM/Hyper-V provisioning workflows where applicable.
• CI/CD, reporting and governance and Integrate automation execution with Jenkins or Azure DevOps pipelines where required.
• Prepare execution summaries, failure analysis, pass/fail traceability and regression dashboard inputs.
• Collaborate with domain SMEs, firmware teams, infra teams and client stakeholders to close feasibility gaps.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on automation development using Robot Framework and Python.
• Experience with Robot Framework libraries such as RequestsLibrary and SSHLibrary.
• Good understanding of REST API automation, JSON/XML parsing, authentication, response validation and error handling.
• Hands-on Redfish API or BMC/server management API automation experience.
• Linux command-line knowledge for remote validation, diagnostics, logs and troubleshooting.
• Experience creating reusable Python libraries and custom Robot Framework keywords.
• Good understanding of Git-based version control, branching, reviews and collaborative development.
• Ability to analyse manual test cases and convert suitable flows into stable automated regression coverage.
• Experience in server management automation for inventory, power operations, health status, alerts and monitoring events.
• Working knowledge of VMware vSphere automation using pyVmomi, govc or equivalent tooling is desirable.
• Exposure to KVM-based automation using libvirt or virt-install for hub/on-premise deployment scenarios is desirable.
• Basic understanding of Hyper-V VM provisioning and remote PowerShell execution is an added advantage.
• Experience validating OVA deployment, VM provisioning, ESXi guest-level checks and OS deployment workflows is preferred.

Good to Have

• Experience with server, storage or infrastructure test automation in HPE, Dell, Lenovo or similar enterprise hardware domains.
• Exposure to vulnerability checks, LDAP/proxy setup validation, call-home workflows or migration testing.
• Experience preparing automation estimates, feasibility assessments and execution dashboards.
• Ability to mentor junior automation engineers and guide framework-level design decisions.
