From building practice management software and helping doctors go digital to pioneering telemedicine before the pandemic, launching Clinic Excellence Scores for greater transparency, and now rolling out AI-powered tools to support clinical decision-making, Practo has stayed at the forefront of innovation. With strong unit economics and positive cash flows, the company is now also well-positioned for a future IPO.
As technology becomes integral to healthcare, Practo plays a crucial role in helping doctors manage and securely store health data. Practo encrypts all data with 256-bit encryption, uses HIPAA-compliant data centres, and is ISO 27001 certified, making it one of the few healthcare companies to achieve this level of security. Demonstrating its commitment to the highest standards of medical quality and patient care, Practo became the first digital healthcare company to receive QAI accreditation for its medical quality. This prestigious accreditation underscores Practo's dedication to excellence in healthcare.
In addition to its core services, Practo established the Practo Foundation three years ago. This nonprofit initiative is dedicated to making high-quality healthcare accessible to all at no cost. The Foundation aims to develop self-sustaining communities offering comprehensive care across all levels. Its first focus has been on combating cataract blindness, having completed ~ 3000 free surgeries. These surgeries are conducted at accredited hospitals and rigorously evaluated by a team of experienced medical professionals.
Now operating in 22 countries, Practo recently expanded its consumer platform to the UAE, building on its existing presence on the provider side. Today, the platform connects over 50 crore patients with 5 lakh doctors and healthcare providers across more than 640 cities. In the UAE alone, Practo now has over 50,000 monthly active users, with 3,000 healthcare facilities and 31,000+ doctors already live. This expansive reach and robust infrastructure generate a staggering ₹3,500 crore+ of value every year, underscoring Practo’s growing impact not just in India but across the global healthcare landscape.
