Responsibilities - Perform and interpret routine and specialized laboratory tests in histopathology, cytopathology, hematology, microbiology, clinical biochemistry, and molecular pathology.
- Conduct blood smear analysis and microscopic evaluation of cellular morphology to detect abnormalities.
- Interpret biopsy specimens and provide preliminary and final diagnostic reports under supervision.
- Execute immunohistochemical staining and analysis to support tumor classification and prognosis.
- Carry out microbiological cultures, sensitivity testing, and identification of pathogens.
- Perform and analyze tumor marker assays to aid in cancer detection and monitoring.
- Participate in autopsy procedures and prepare detailed pathological reports.
- Maintain and validate laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with quality control and assurance standards.
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines (e.g., NABL, ISO 15189) and hospital policies for laboratory operations.
- Collaborate with clinicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate diagnostic support.
- Document all procedures, results, and quality checks in compliance with electronic health record and laboratory information systems.
- MBBS or MD in Pathology (or equivalent medical qualification with relevant training in clinical pathology).
- Strong foundational knowledge in histopathology, cytopathology, hematology, immunohistochemistry, microbiology, clinical biochemistry, molecular pathology, and autopsy procedures.
- Hands-on experience in blood smear analysis, biopsy interpretation, and tumor marker analysis.
- Familiarity with laboratory quality control systems and compliance protocols.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with medical staff.
- Willingness to work in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment with accuracy and professionalism.
- Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (or equivalent) and relevant license to practice.
